DIRECTV Holds Denver Grand Opening
On Thursday, DIRECTV held a grand opening celebration for its National Operations Hub in Denver, a 256,000-square foot facility south of the Mile High City. The building will deal with call center management, field services, supply chain management, independent retail service and other support functions for the satellite TV giant.
DIRECTV's operations hub has a
two-floor customer call center that will
join the company's other
owned-and-operated call centers in Boise,
Hunstville, Ala., Tulsa and Missoula,
Mont. The Denver facility employs 607
workers, including 273 customer care
representatives and 334 Denver operations
employees. The center is expected to
create up to 1,000 new jobs in the coming
months.
With other multiplatform companies like Comcast, WildBlue and EchoStar having large operations in the vicinity, it would seem the DIRECTV Denver hub is ideally situated in an area with a deep talent pool for customer service employment.
"Our newly expanded operations center will be at the core of everything we do in support of our customers nationwide, from the provision of equipment to installation, follow-up service and customer contact," said John Suranyi, president of DIRECTV sales and service. "As our customer base continues to grow, and our advanced products and services play an increasingly significant role in our customers' viewing experience, it is critical that we have our command and control operations under one roof to closely coordinate our sales and service support nationwide."
