New HD Receiver For DISH Customers
EchoStar on Monday launched the ViP222, a new high-definition receiver designed to compliment the satcaster's line of ViP set-top boxes.
"DISH Network continues to meet and exceed the demands of our subscribers to make the most of the home entertainment and home viewing experience especially when it comes to high definition," said Rhod Williams, EchoStar's senior VP of engineering. "The ViP222 is an extension of a superior and award-winning line of receivers, ideal for millions of new and avid HDTV households."
The unit features an MPEG-4, dual-tuner receiver that's capable of powering two TVs simultaneously: one in HD and the other in SD. Like the ViP211 released last year, it also supports on-screen caller ID, EchoStar's DishHOME Interactive TV package and parental locking.
The ViP222 is available to new and existing DISH Network HD customers via the company's Digital Home Advantage plan.
