DIRECTV on Wednesday announced the addition of seven new local channel markets to its HD lineup, bringing the satellite provider's total to 133 cities representing more than 91 percent of U.S. TV households.
The new markets include Charleston-Huntington, W. Va.; Columbia, S.C.; Huntsville-Decatur, Ala.; Jackson, Miss.; Lexington, Ky.; Roanoke-Lynchburg, Va.; and Shreveport, La. The new HD markets will begin to roll out later this summer, according to DIRECTV.
In each of the new markets, DIRECTV's HD subscribers will have access to ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC in high-def.
