FSS uses proprietary information on network carriage by satellite and channel lineups to identify which headends are pulling from which satellites. A thorough vetting of all data, including proper consideration of programming packagers such as IP Prime, makes this tool a one-of-a-kind in the industry today.
After mapping headends to satellites, subscriber counts by headend are
added into all reports. Subscribers are acquired from the MediaCensus subscriber products, and are updated quarterly.
Headends carrying feeds from programming packages such as HITS, HITS
Quantum, HITS Espanol and Olympusat are identified early in the process
to ensure that those particular headends are associated with the
satellites which provide feeds from packagers, rather than the
satellites which carry the generally available feeds.
This online tool allows users to select the type of output desired (see report options below), then filter the data based on geography, platform provider, and/or networks carried. One or more filters can be applied at one time. All filters are multi-select.
Two types of reports are currently available. Both will provide number of subscribers by headend, and can be downloaded in Excel :
Satellite with Headends
This report lists the headends which are pointed at a specific satellite(s). Information such as headed owner and headend location are included in the report.
Satellite with Channel Lineups
This report provides information on the feeds carried by the headends pointed at a specific satellite(s).
